Every night, Jason asks Simone four questions: “Do you feel happy? Do you feel safe? Do you feel special? Do you feel loved?” It is the single most beautiful thing we have heard in quite a while. Simone loves the questions and has done so every since he started saying them.
Simone had become accustomed to hearing these question every night, that when during a trip to Fiji, he started asking the questions of her yet again, she thought nothing of it until she heard the fifth question: “Will you marry me?”. It blew her away, and of course, she said yes instantaneously!
They have been together for 8 years now, officially starting their relationship on Dec 6, 2010. Later they found out that they had been invited by their respective friends to join them at King O’Malleys, but had them sit at a “singles” table, in the hopes that some of the people at that table would hit it off. Well, their friends successfully played matchmaker that night!
They fell in love very quickly because they feel so comfortable with each other. A good example of this is their first date where they had not planned anything beyond the coffee, but it turned into lunch, then a walk, then a drink at ANU Bar. In fact, the only reason they parted ways that day was because Jason had Tae Kwon Do practice! Jason found Simone to be his match, with her quirkiness and weirdness matching his own, while still having such a kind heart and beautiful smile. Simone loves that Jason encourages her weirdness, but is also very thoughtful, caring, charismatic and motivated. A simple hug from Simone is all Jason needs to keep him motivated and focused when everything seems to be going out of control and Simone feels that her love just grows for Jason on a daily basis, seemingly without any chance of giving up ever!
They are massive fans of pop/nerd culture and have travelled quite a few times to Japan, choosing that as their destination yet again for their honeymoon!
On their wedding day, we started the day in seperate rooms of the Hyatt hotel, before spending a little moment for a first look, giving each other the courage they needed before declaring their love in front of all their family and friends. We then whisked them away to Skyspace and the NGA before returning for their reception. Here is a little peek into their wedding day…
