Rebecca & Luke Abraham
MARRIED 15 MAY 2021
Luke is a caring man who has sacrificed so much a lot to ensure Bec and he are always together as a family. He stands by Bec and the kids - when people say they’re not his family, he defends them. Bec wouldn’t trade him in for the world.
She loves everything about Luke! She loves his goofy weird strange self and how he loves unconditionally; that he is the peacekeeper and makes them feel safe; that she can trust him and that he is always honest with her. He makes her feel loved & appreciated. While Bec is the one that thinks things through the voice of reason, Luke is very much the impulsive, spur of the moment person and she absolutely adores that!
They met on Tinder in 2015 and got to chatting on and off. After quite a few chats, they finally decided to meet up for a coffee. Luke made the drive to Canberra to meet with Bec, enjoyed the whole experience so much that simply never stopped finding the time to drive into Canberra just to see Bec.
Luke is a man of few words, and everyone who knows him, knows exactly that, so when we asked him if he had a favourite moment of Bec, he simply said Bec. Always. We can only assume that he meant that his favourite moments are all the moments, from the smallest to the largest, to the epic, and the mundane. That this is a man that can say all that in just a couple of words!
For Bec, there are tons of specific moments and in all of them, she knew this was true love: when he accepted her kids and was so happy that Gracie called him Daddy; the fact that he called her every night he wasn’t around mostly because he missed her calling him daddy; the way he encourages Benji to come out of his shell and be more confident; when he asked her what she wanted to do for her 30th Birthday and she said she’d love to go to the gold coast - before she could plan anything, he had booked The Hyatt Hotel and purchased our plane tickets, helicopter rides, and boat trips. While they were there, they did all the fun stuff like strolling the markets and beach, shopping and watching Luke eat an ice cream at every ice cream bar. He made Bec feel seen, loved and appreciated.
Their proposal is the best though! And Bec kinda knew it was coming, but like this! It was their second Christmas together. All year, Bec had been circling rings as a joke and was awaiting a handbag as the gift she had asked for. Little did she know he had other plans! He decided to buy about six or seven boxes in different sizes that all fit in one another. He wrapped each of the boxes individually and inside the last box was the ring. You can imagine hoe frustrated Bec was when she got down to the last two boxes! But, when she saw the ring box inside the last box, everything changed! She got flutters in her stomach. Luke started to get on one knee, but Gracie was so quick and snatched the box out of her hand, proceeded to open it, grab the ring, stick it on her big toe and ask them if it looked pretty! Luke just decided to pop the question to Bec anyway, with the ring still firmly on Gracie’s toe. It took them a good 20 minutes to retrieve it, resulting in tears. She even ran to her room saying it was a bad Christmas!
On their wedding day, we took off down the highway to meet them at the Snowy Mountains Travellers Rest. It was cold and windy, but that didn’t stop either of them! While we froze a little, they said so many beautiful words to each other, and Luke used way more words than he ever has before! We whisked away to the top of the mountain to take a few portraits before the sun went down and partied the night away afterwards! Here are just a few of the images we captured on their wedding day…
