Nilukshi & Matthew Slade
MARRIED 16 JANUARY 2021
Sometimes, getting stuck here in Australia, thanks to covid, isn’t actually al that bad. You reassess the life that you had, and start to look at everything that is on offer in our beautiful country. And perhaps you decide to stay. And perhaps you decide that your trip to visit your family wasn’t in vain - perhaps you decide that you may as well get married here, instead of home, in the UK.
Nilukshi (Nikki) & Matt met while Nikki was abroad in Europe, and they found a love that they never thought they could find, originally worlds apart from each other. Had it not been for the trip Nikki took, they may never had met, and never formed the bond they have to this day!
Once they had met though, they travelled the world together, using England as a base, they’ve visited far too many places within Europe than we could ever write down here. The tables weren’t numbered, instead they were names of relatively obscure places they’ve been to within Europe and the UK, where they had stories to tell - stories that you wouldn’t believe! One such story had them getting on the wrong train and arriving in a small coastal town that was over 5 hours away from where they were meant to go. All because they fell asleep as soon as they boarded the train, without realising they had boarded the wrong one!
Their wedding day was filled with the sae and similar amazing stories, and we spent it with them at fairly iconic political locations around Canberra, because that’s also one of the things they love most about travelling - visiting the key political areas of the country. Here are just a selection of the images we produced from their day…
