Melissa & Victor Tiong
MARRIED 5 MAY 2019
While Victor was in Singapore for work, he met this beautiful lady, Melissa. He thought to himself, now this a lady he wanted to learn more about. They found out that they both love to play tennis, and you might say they really hit it off! Once Vic realised they were such a good match, it struck him - how could he convince Mel to move to Australia with him? Turns out, quite easily!
They’re actually quite competitive, so much so that Vic will never admit to losing to Mel in tennis. They have remained competitive for the 4 years, 7 months they’ve been together and as a result, they are quite cheeky with one another. Mel loves how Vic is athletic and has the “never-say-die” spirit. But on the flip side, he can be a little boy at times and needs a lot of affection. Vic loves that Mel has these “Emmett” tinted “everything is awesome” glasses that she views the world through which is a nice contrast to his occasional doom and gloom attitude.
When it comes to their favourite moment of each other, Vic recalls when he taught Mel the theory of how to fish, and then when she went fishing for the first time with him, out-fished him completely. Mel’s moment is that when Vic proposed to her, he had planned everything out far more than she ever thought he would, but the look on his face when he forgot to actually ask her that very important question - priceless.
Speaking of proposals, Vic proposed to Mel on the 12th of November, 2017. They spent the evening at Opera Bar, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge as the backdrop for the evening. It was everything Mel wished for and more!
On their wedding day, we joined them at the Gibraltar Hotel in Bowral for a whirlwind of a day in terms of weather, but we still managed to keep everyone fairly warm, especially when we raced back inside for the tea ceremony before their wedding reception. Here is just a sample of what their day looked like…
