Melanie & Michael Uzzell
MARRIED 17 NOVEMBER 2018
Picture this: The following words start crawling up the movie screen… “It is a desperate time for the Rebellion. Several battles have been lost against the evil Galactic Empire. Rebel Patrols have spotted the Empire’s Ultimate weapon, a giant space station, still in construction.” but instead of reading the rest, you’re still focussed on the man you met just outside the movie theatre before shuffling in, and wondering where he’s sitting right now…
We like to think that Melanie managed to remember most of the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story despite her efforts to learn more about Michael that day.
It’s been 2 years since they’ve been together and that was more than enough for them to realise they were exactly what they were looking for in each other and can’t quite pinpoint why they hadn’t yet found each other. So it was on Valentine’s day, 2018, that Michael popped the question across the dinner table at Chalisa. And we all know that Mel’s answer was “YES!”
They fell in love because they are each other’s missing pieces and that compatibility has been the rock of their relationship. For Mel & Mick, it’s not about where you are, but about who you share you life with, no matter the surroundings, and they carry that sentiment with them everyday - it’s what make their everyday the extraordinary. And when asked if they share a funny moment together, they stated that because they’re having far too much fun on a daily basis, it would be easier to list the moments that aren’t fun (because they’re are practically none of those!).
On their wedding day, we were told explicitly not to focus on Michael in the morning, so we didn’t, and instead spent a fantastic time with Mel and her girls getting ready before heading down to the Lanyon Homestead where they were to be married and spend the rents of the afternoon. You can see all the fun we had with them below…
