Meeting the person of your dreams can happen at any time in your life. For Maddison & Kane, it happened when they first typed messages to each other on a chat server that is now considered rather antiquated: MSN Messenger. They spent many many years as friends, before they realised it was much more than a friendship, making their relationship 'official' six years ago on September 2nd. They formed a special bond, first as friends and then as a couple, making their marriage truly one that was well thought out!
Kane is such a gentleman through and through, and his rugged good looks drew him to Maddison instantly. As the friendship grew, she saw how loyal, hard working and easy going he is. Maddison specifically told us that she loves how he has such a passion and love for their life together.
Most definitely, their best memory is when they met for the first time in person at the local caravan park (behind their families back's), when Maddison was just 14 years old. Once Maddison's family had headed out for the night, they carted a tent, pillows and a blanket down to the caravan park and brought snacks. They had trouble setting up the tent as it was too dark, so they just laid on top of the tent together, getting to know each other more, all the while watching the night sky and shooting stars. They had to fend off a few possums who decided they liked the idea of eating the snacks they had brought with them, but that only adds to the memory. The next morning when Maddison's mother found out where they were, she got in so much trouble! She remembers it was well worth it for such an amazing moment.
On March 6th, 2014, they travelled to Sydney to see Mrs Brown's Boys live in concert. Kane was acting very weird the whole afternoon - quite nervous and more affectionate than usual. Maddison put it down to travel jitters but turned out to be other reasons! After the concert, once back in their hotel room, Kane blindfolded Maddison and declared his love for her! She heard him open something and when he told her to take the blindfold off, she saw Kane down on one knee with a beautiful sparkly ring. Of course she said yes!
Maddison and Kane were married on the lawns of a very special person in Maddison's life - her grandfather. He opened his home and his heart to everyone, and we had a spectacular afternoon, filled with fun and laughter - memories that shall not soon be forgotten.
