Kay & Maxwell Davidson
MARRIED 4 NOVEMBER 2016
We were privileged to photograph one very special union - that of Kay and Maxwell Davidson. Love is as simple as a friendship that lasts a life time. This is so true for both Kay and Max, who have spent some time apart in recent years, only to realise that was the biggest mistake they made. When Max was told that his illness was terminal, the only thing he wanted to do was re-marry his life-long sweetheart, Kay.
They involved the beautiful people at My Wedding Wish, a charity that helps out in times like this, in order to put together a team of professionals to bring the wish to fruition. We were lucky enough to be chosen, both as avid supporters of this charity, but also as photographers who love being able to be there for people in times like this one.
Kay & Maxwell have had an amazing life together. They have two beautiful daughters, and seen all the ups and downs life can bring. Sharing their final moments together as a married couple was the only thing on both of their minds.
This has to be one of the shortest turn arounds for a wedding due to the timeline Max faced. With the help of many amazing people, we managed to pull off a very quick ceremony for the happy couple, in the courtyards of The Canberra Hospital. Kay managed to get the word out in time so that their wedding could be shared by some of their closest family and friends, some of whom live a number of hours outside of Canberra, and were still able to drop everything to be there for them.
This truly is what love is all about and we were so happy to be a part of such a magical day for two very special people!
