So these two beautiful people have been together since 2016, specifically meeting while in the same class at university. It was called Accounting for Managers and it was in Room 15, Building 7. We wouldn’t normally be so specific with this sort of information, but it’ll pay off, we promise! ;)
It’s certainly a unique way to meet. And they became very close friends. It wasn’t until 2018 that they really became a couple, officially. It was mostly the mucking around they do with each other, the having of ALL the fun, basically. They always try to keep things light hearted and make every memory at least have one moment of laughter they can look back on. They also are pretty active and adventurous when they get the time - riding bikes or driving to a new place and finding somewhere to hike and see new sites. And during talks of the future, they found they both had a very similar view of what that looked like, so of course they became even closer and closer.
A really special moment in their lives, was during a time that Katie moved to the coast, only to have border closures from covid cause her and Adriano to remain apart for far longer than expected. It wasn’t until something like 3 months or more before they finally were legally able to see each other, and made the very first trip they could. When they finally embraced, it was one of the happiest moments they can remember -it was almost like falling in all over again.
One of the best things they love doing, though, is trying their hardest to embarrass each other at work on their birthdays! Sending in barbie cakes, with pink napkins, decorating cars with streamers and balloons. Katie even once hid in his toolbox until the end of his workday and jumped out when he was packing it all up! They just love having the best fun together, with the snow being one of their favourite destinations to travel to.
So when it cam to the proposal, it came as no surprise to anyone that it happened at the top of Mt Kosciusko. They were walking through the snow next to the creek, and Adriano just knelt down and popped the question. He did, however, refuse to let her have the ring though, for fear of her losing it in the soft snow! But here’s the best part - the date he proposed was 15/7/2020 (and now you know why those numbers were so important from earlier!)
On their wedding day, we started with each of them in their respective locations for getting ready, before following them to the Chapel at Gold Creek for their ceremony. Afterwards, we planned to take them into some of our most quintessential locations, but the rain on their day simply wouldn’t let us do it, so we pivoted and used the Ovolo Nishi Hotel instead before heading to the Kamberra Function Centre for all the amazing Tongan wedding celebrations! All in all, an amazing day, despite the weather. And here is just a few of the images we captured from their day…
