Kathie & Adam Potts

Kathie & Adam have tried no less than 4 times to tie the knot. And as you may know, they've had their fair share of obstacles to prevent their wedding from occurring each and every time. Whenever they set a new date, something would cause them to have put it off yet again. It wasn't until they found out that their beautiful daughter Annabelle had been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour, that they realised they needed to get married - the sooner the better!

Then something miraculous happened - the Canberran community got behind this wonderful family and put on an amazing wedding for them. When we heard their plight, we wanted to be involved to help make their wedding as memorable as possible.

It has been 7 and a half years since Kathie first met Adam in a quaint little pub, their eyes meeting across the dance floor. Nearly 3 years later, on Christmas Eve, while driving around to look at Christmas lights, Adam decided to drive up to the top of Mt Ainslie to propose to the love of his life.

It was her fun-loving nature and his kindness and generosity that made them fall in love and they have since shared countless memories together, including watching "Dumb & Dumber" while going into labour with Annabelle; by pure coincidence, watching the sequel while going into labour with their handsome son, William; driving to Tomikan with their precious daughter while Kathie was pregnant with William; and simple things like playing with their children in the backyard.

On their wedding day, the boys were having a great time, relaxing outside, having a few drinks, getting ready for the day ahead. Kathie was with her sisters in their family home, and you could see the joy on her face that her wedding was finally happening! She walked down the aisle of the Gold Creek Chapel to marry the man of her dreams, the father of her children, and she could not have been happier in that moment. It was made all the more special that Annabelle was able to be there with her family.

Afterwards, we spent some time in the gardens of the Chapel grounds before heading into Hall and then finally back home to relax, unwind and celebrate with family. We were honoured to have been present and to have been able to capture their wedding day. It was truly special.
