Some people say that you have to fight to stay together, but in Kat & Kyle’s case, they fought well before they even got together! They have a mutual love for Taekwondo, and have both competed at the international level, representing Australia. They have quite a few medals/trophies to show for it too!
But it wasn’t the trips to and from Korea, that grounded them and their relationship. It was the simple things in life - and that they have far too many memories where they are just laughing all the time, reminding them of just how much fun they have all the time.
They’ve been together for over 7 years now, and it’s been way too much fun the entire time. For Kyle, Kat is the complete package: “gorgeous, smart, athletic, funny, driven, persistent & babin’”. And for Kat, Kyle literally completes her be cause he is “inspired, passionate, persistent and darn smokin’” (Ok, Kat used a different word instead of ‘darn’, but this is a public website…. ;) )
Each of them have their own version of when they knew they had fallen in love. Kyle remembers a night after taekwondo practice where they were talking in the car, and in the moment, he just blurted out “I think I love you”. Kat remembers that all too well. But for her, it was a different moment, when they were lying on the couch together, and she decided to start doodling on his stomach and the random drawings just turned other writing “I love you”
And so, after knowing that they had to spend every waking moment together, Kyle finally proposed on October 16th 2016 in a cove between Maloney’s Beach and Long Beach. These beaches meant something special to each of them, especially their childhood memories. So the cove was the intersection between the two - beautiful symbolism for their future life together.
On their wedding day, they had to have it at the coast of course. They chose the NRMA Murramarang Resort, which was a stunning location. We spent the whole day there with them, including well into the night to be able to capture some astrophotography for them…
