February 2016, these two love birds met, for the very first time after having spent time on the Plenty of Fish dating app, and realising that they had far more in common than they first realised, and as such, they pursued a relationship, beginning with a small date at Max Brenner.
The fun part about these two is that, technically speaking, Mitch asked Casey out on February 29, so you could say that they’d only been dating for 1.5 leap years before they finally got married!!
But let’s backtrack a bit. And talk about why they even thought their relationship was a good idea! Mitch, according to Casey, is funny and super smart. He has made her see the world in different ways: she knows more about coding than she ever thought possible; she loves talking sports with him, and how resilient he is; she also appreciates that he shuts the cupboards doors at night for her, even though he is pretty sure there are no monsters. Casey, according to Mitch, is simply awesome! She likes sport, so they have much to discuss, and although they have shared interests, she has many qualities and skills that he does not have which is something he admires greatly.
So, because they love travelling so much, their favourite memories are of their travels. Casey remembers the amazing top they took through Victoria, with the hand-drawn map that Mitch put together for her which also included seeing fairy penguins and koalas. Mitch remembers the beautiful meal they ate sitting in a restaurant that had the best view of the entirety of London city. And they both agree that their entire trip to Europe, Rome in particular, was right up there as an important memory. Especially because it was the last trip they were able to take before covid happened. Oh, and they both agree that one of their silliest, yet most awesome moments in life was the Foam Run in 2019. ;) You guys should ask them about why. ;)
So it wasn’t until the 15th of November 2020 that Mitch finally proposed to Casey, after all their awesome trips together, and after he knew for sure that she was the one. But because they couldn’t go anywhere, they literally had a picnic in the front yard of their place, making for one of the most unique proposals we’ve ever heard of!
On their wedding day, we started with each of them in Murrumbateman before taking a few photos at the local pub there while it was raining, and then we headed out to Poachers Pantry, and even though the ground was wet, Casey was prepared and had galoshes, making for another exceptionally unique set of photographs - you can check them out below…
