Anita & Aaron Foote
MARRIED 14 MARCH 2020
They say that when you go away overseas with the one you love, there is a very good chance you’ll come home engaged… Well that’s exactly what happened when Aaron took Anita to Hong Kong in March 2018.
It wasn’t their first overseas holiday, which was to Japan where they experienced many of the wonderful things Japan has to offer including Disneyland and DisneySea in Tokyo, a traditional Japanese hotel on Mt Fuji, as well as a spur of the moment decision to have dinner in Kyoto when staying in Osaka (for those of you who don’t know, the two major cities are connected by a direct bullet train, and it only takes roughly 1.5 hrs to get from one to the other). So when they went to Hong Kong, Anita wasn’t really sure it would happen, and was still as surprised as ever when Aaron proposed underneath a waterfall in Hong Kong Park.
But let’s backtrack for a bit! These two met in 2015 through Tinder, which proves the app isn’t doesn’t for social hookups! And their first official date was a picnic at Yerrabi Pond where Aaron, romantic as ever, included little lollies that had questions on them to ask each other. Aaron fell in love with how Anita always buys the right snacks and leaves him cute little notes around the house. Anita LOVES Aaron’s cups of tea, and also that he has an uncanny knack of knowing what’s on her mind without her having to tell him. All these little things and many more added up to a beautiful relationship and a love that is unending.
Their favourite moment together so far is the beautiful night they shared immediately after Anita said yes! They took the tram to Victoria Peak, which is a lookout where you can have dinner and then watch Hong Kong light up at night as the sun sets. We had dinner and then got a photo taken with Hong Kong lights in the background. We existed in our own little bubble for the rest of the night, regardless of the crowds around us.
On their day, we started in a simple hotel fr preparation before heading to the Arboretum for their ceremony. We spent a little time in the Himalayan Cedars at the Arboretum (to stay out of the wind!) and then a little bit in Skyspace before heading to the National Press Club for their reception. Here is just a few of the images we took on their day…
