Angeline & Brett Purdue

Sometimes life provides you with what you’re looking for before you even realise it was what you were looking for… We may never know if it was on purple or not, but Brett & Angeline met briefly at work in 2010 when Brett was asked to manage a team that had just recruited Angeline. Angeline eventually moved on to study medicine, and this is where their story may have ended forever. But! As fate would have it, they put these two lovebirds back together again as a chance meeting in a coffee house. And it was this second time where they really hit it off. You might even say it was mostly due to the fact that Angeline’s friend, Jee-Hye, asked her for a coffee, and without that simple request, this may have been a sliding doors moment, and these two may never have met again…

A cute lunch which turned into a dinner a few days later, and they knew they had something special (so much so, that Brett as emailing her every day afterwards!)

They both knew they were in love, so it was only a matter of time until they were engaged. For these lovebirds, it was on December 12, 2018. They had a stopover in Krung Thep (Bangkok) while on their way to visit Angeline’s parents in Kenya. Brett managed to carry the ring on his person through many airport terminals and security points for four days while waiting for the right moment to propose. When the moment arrived, he tried to tee-up something special for Angeline with the waitstaff at a local restaurant, but he was so nervous (as was the waitstaff), it didn’t go quite as planned! But we definitely know it was romantic enough that Angeline said yes anyway! As a bonus, it turns out that the day he ended up proposing is in fact the national Kenyan day they celebrate the founding of the republic, making the date a very special one for Angeline! (Brett maintains that was his plan all along!)

In the three years they have been together, they have enjoyed life to the fullest, travelling to amazing places such as Hong Kong where they spent almost every day exploring the wondrous city - shopping, dining, seeing sights and theme parks, returning the hotel late each evening with dessert. But they both agree that the most special moment of their life has to be their wedding day! All because it was a day with their family and friends - they were all involved and made it such a special day. One that both Brett & Angeline will never forget!
