Amy & Sam Tomalin
MARRIED 19 MARCH 2016
Amy met Sam in the gym. She wanted to get into shape and he was the PT assigned to her first session. Sessions turned to late night phone calls, some which lasted for hours, and one that happened at 2am, early one morning. At that point, Amy realised that she was falling for Sam, so they decided it best not to continue as trainer and trainee. Instead, they turned phone calls into coffee dates which eventually became lunch dates, then dinner dates, and before long they were inseparable.
Sam proposed last September during a beautiful holiday in Thailand. He chose to ask for Amy's hand in marriage at the very famous rock formation known as Hin Ta & Hin Yai, in Koh Samui. Thai stories tell that the rocks represent a mother and father getting lost a sea while searching for a wife for their son. In their search, they turned to stone in a rather iconic shape representing their very obvious intentions for their future daughter in law - that they wanted for their son to have children. So while Sam has his awesome story about his proposal being at an amazing location, it's also fitting for their relationship as it's another way of Sam telling Amy that he's ready to start a family!
We asked Amy to describe how she knew she was in love with Sam, and she quite simply stated that they are just best mates and perfect for each other! That says it all, really! Plus, as Amy mused, she isn't that lovey-dovey so having sappy things to say doesn't come naturally.
On their wedding day, Amy rode to meet Sam, on her father's motorbike, the sound of which could be heard well before they could be seen. After all the formalities, Amy and Sam had fun in and around the vines, racing to different places to have even more shots taken.
Their joy at finally being able to call themselves husband and wife is evident in their photos. Such a beautiful couple, showing us just how in love they are.
