Alyshia & Robert Dodimead
MARRIED 3 MARCH 2018
For anyone who know's Alyshia & Rob, they know that not only will they have a hilarious anecdote to add to everything under the sun, but they quite simply live life to its fullest, having fun and laughing as much as they possibly can. You quite simply cannot spend time with either of these two without ending up in stitches of laughter. And their wedding day was no different, full of beautiful heart-felt moments as well as laughter.
But let's take it back for a bit and reminisce about how it all started out. It was way back in 2005 when they first met, at the Queanbeyan Bus Interchange, after school. Mutual friends introduced them, and they have been pretty close ever since.
After years of friendship, it started to become quite real for Rob first, as he pestered and pestered Alyshia to go out on a date for him, for as long as 12 months before she finally caved. Alyshia realised she was starting to fall for Rob when he started doing more and more of the little things that you do for those you love, such as getting up crazy early, in the cold to scrape the ice off her car so that she didn't have to do it herself before she left for her early gym session.
It was a Friday, the 16th of October, 2016, when Rob proposed. They had just picked up the keys after buying their first home together and were planning to sleep in their new place in their swag on the dining room floor before they moved in. Thee were watching Brooklyn Nine Nine when one of the characters said "It's a miracle!". Rob then very quickly and nervously said "How about you be my miracle and you marry me?". Alyshia said yes through laughter and tears.
So for 3 and a half years now, they have been keeping each other company, bringing their amazing sense of humour to every day, travelling to places such as the Gold Coast, fishing together, and renovating their home which brought more fun than they thought was possible into their relationship.
On their wedding, they spent it with their true friends and loved ones, at the north end of the Queanbeyan Park, then bringing the night home at the Hotel Kurrajong. It was a beautiful day they are sure to remember for as long as they both shall live!
