Alex & Ali Mrsk
MARRIED 30 MARCH 2019
Some say Ali came to Australia to find a wife, as if he actually declared it like in the movies, both as he boarded his flight in Iran and when he landed here safely. Others say he wasn’t looking, but fell head over heels in love when he met Alex at university. Either way, what Alex & Ali share is a love that is the combination of two very different cultures, creating something new and amazing.
It was three and half years ago while Alex was studying her PhD, and Ali was completing his masters, that they met, turning the day into an afternoon of drinks at Haha Bar in Belconnen. They both say that was their first “non-official date”. They have since had quite a few of those dates…
It was clear from those first few dates that they began to grow together. They find it so easy to talk with each other and they have the same aspirations and family values as well. but it wasn’t until Alex fell ill and Ali made her the most amazing soup at midnight and proceeded to bring that to her while she was still in Hospital, that she knew she could be with him forever.
And so, it was on Valentine’s Day in 2018 when they frequented Bellavista, as they always have for their anniversaries, and while sitting in the corner, so as to help calm Ali’s nerves, he asked Alex three times (as is his custom) to marry her. She said yes each time, and he produced themes amazing ring upon the third yes!
They have since spent every waking moment they can together, including trips away to places such as Young during the cherry picking season. Their friends and family can’t see one without the other, they are that inseperable.
On their wedding day, we spent time with each of them in their respective places before joining them in marriage on the lawns of the Federal Golf Course. They had quite a number of uniques little moments including a dove release, which happened just in the knick of time, noting a massive down pour of rain happened literally seconds after the doves were released. The rain was quite happy to hit the mountain in waves of the rest of the afternoon and we raced outside for short bursts when we could to get shots of them on the beautiful greens. We even managed to keep them out there in a little su shower. It was magical.
